Developing an Implementation Plan
There is an increase in opioid use disorder (OUD) prevalence resulting in overdoses that
affects Anne Arundel County in Baltimore and rural communities are disproportionately
affected. To address this epidemic, opioid use disorder and substance abuse can be treated using
a medication-assisted treatment (MAT) clinic that offers behavioral counselling and therapy for
OUD (Klein & Seppala, 2019). A proposed mobile MAT clinic will allow the healthcare
organization tap into the Anne Arundel County population and reach individuals who require
addiction treatment services.
