Short-Term Wins During Change

Change is inevitable in healthcare and any other realm of practice or industry; however, healthcare is unique, as about two-thirds of all initiated change projects fail ( Barrow et al., 2022). Some of the reasons attributed to these failures include poor planning, unmotivated staff, deficient communication, and or frequent change. In the change management process, it is critical to keep track of the change initiatives; this is where short-term wins come into the picture. Short-term wins should be undeniably successful, visible in the organization, and related to the overall change initiative.
