Obstacles During Change Implementation
Change is a complex process, and effective leadership is necessary to implement changes in organizations successfully. About 50 percent of organizational change initiatives fail due to implementation obstacles (Center for Creative Leadership, 2020). Resistance to change results from a lack of change readiness in organizations (Vaishnavi et al., 2019). When stakeholders are not ready for the change, the implementation will fail. Also, information distortion may result in stakeholders' negative views of the change initiative; hence, leaders may find it challenging to rally support for the change implementation.
