LRD-615 Topic 5 DQ 2: ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT AND CHANGE
Effective and Frequent Communication
The success of organizational change initiatives relies on effective and frequent communication. Stakeholders want to know what the change is all about, the milestones, and the impact of the change process on the normal functioning of the organization. According to the Society for Human Resource Management, effective and frequent communication is required to create awareness and build an understanding regarding the change. With frequent communication, effective teams are built as members interact and collaborate regularly with each other. Effective and frequent communication provides an opportunity for stakeholders to seek clarification for issues they want to be elaborated on. This builds trust and provides an avenue for the change team to resolve any concerns that would fuel resentment and resistance to the change initiative. Also, frequent communication keeps stakeholders fully engaged in the change process. Change initiatives devoid of strategic internal communication experience high failure rates. Effective internal communication enables stakeholders to understand the rationale of the change (Yue et al., 2019)..
